Yes, you heard it right! Starting August 2, you'll get a MacCoin for every purchase of a Big Mac meal in more than 50 participating countries worldwide—including Qatar!
And what's the coin good for? Another Big Mac!
Or if you think that the coin is too precious to exchange for a Big Mac, then you can just keep it for yourself—just like what most of people will prefer to do since these coins are one in a million and Qatar only has over 8,000 pieces!
Dubbed as "a global currency for a global icon," the MacCoins will be up for grabs at all McDonalds outlet across Qatar—and all over the world—starting August 2 (Thursday) and running throughout the rest of 2018!
The coin idea sprung from the role that the Big Mac has played in measuring purchasing power, specifically by the Big Mac Index, an annual report that uses Big Mac prices at countries around the world to see whether currencies are properly valued.
To get a coin, consumers need to download the McDonald’s app (not McDelivery Qatar) and use it to buy 1 Large Big Mac meal to get a MacCoin. The coins will be available in all McDonald's outlets in Qatar between 11AM and 5PM only.
Q: Can we purchase the MacCoin before August 2?
A: No. But there's a way to get yours earlier than the rest by scrolling all the way down in this article and joining our competition!
Q: So one Big Mac sandwich is equivalent to one MacCoin?
A: Correction: One Big Mac MEAL not one Big Mac sandwich will entitle you a MacCoin.
