Golfers taking part in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters will face the longest ever layout at the Doha Golf Club (DGC) course. The event, which is to take place between February 2nd and 5th, will see participants playing on a slightly longer course to add an extra challenge to the event. Golf club general manager Chris Myers told the Tribune News Network: “This year, we have added an extra tee, increasing the length of the course. This means that the golfers will have to play over the DGC’s lengthiest course of over 7,400 yards. For the last four or five years, we’ve been having additional tee on different holes.” He added that he thinks the scores at the event will be similar to in previous years, although the weather may also add an extra challenge. “Since we’ve an exposed course and when the wind blows, it increases the degree of difficulties for the golfers,” Mr Myers continued. A number of big name golfers are taking part in the competition, including world number two Lee Westwood. 7Days
