Qatar Expo Event Management, the organisers of this year’s International Furniture and Interior Design Exhibition (INFDEX), yesterday announced that a host of Qatari companies have offered to sponsor the event. INFDEX 2011 will be co-managed, for the second time, by Qatar Expo Event Management in partnership with Messe Frankfurt, a global exhibition management group. The event is the ideal medium for global and Qatari companies to exhibit their wares and creativity, with products related to furniture and interior design, lighting, fabrics, textiles, and architecture to be displayed. Hundreds of potential customers from government agencies and corporate decision-makers are expected to attend the event. “On behalf of Qatar’s Expo, I would like to extend my deepest thanks to all the sponsors of INFDEX 2011, who have an important role to play in this event, as without them, it would not be possible,” Qatar Expo chief executive officer Karim Zarka said. “We are also grateful to the government of Qatar for supporting initiatives that broaden and diversify the economy of the country. It is through the wise foresight of the leaders of Qatar that lead to this strategy, creating an environment in which INFDEX could take place.” Jaidah Furniture Group is INFDEX 2011’s platinum sponsor and the group, known for its Lignet Roset and Dedon lines, has been providing office and residential furniture to the Qatari market for over 30 years. The company offers an array of services, including sales, consultancy, interior design, interior contracting and space planning. Colortek is supporting the event as premiere sponsor. The firm provides a medium for home-owners, architects, and interior designers to browse the widest range of decorative materials and innovative products in Qatar in the region. INFDEX’s supporting sponsor is the Turkish furniture giant Istikbal, which was founded in 1957. The Istikbal brand is built up with a substantial business basis in Turkey and abroad with 11,500 employees and 1,000,000sq m of manufacturing areas, Istikbal is the leasing Turkish manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer and exporter of mattresses, upholstered furniture, case goods and home textiles. Al-Misned Trading and Joinery, one of the leading building product suppliers in Qatar, will support the event as the presenting sponsor. Established in 1992, the company is a subsidiary of the Misned Group and is Qatar’s largest supplier of interior design building products. Zarka added: “It is important to point out that INFDEX is Qatar’s exhibition. Not only are we showcasing international products and services to the country, but we are showcasing Qatar’s talent to the world. The foundation for the event’s success rests on partnerships and sponsorships, and we do encourage companies to support INFDEX in any way they can. Not only will they get global and local exposure for their business, but they would be supporting an event that the country can be proud of.”
