Like skinny jeans, some trends will never die down. The same can't be said for bell-bottoms. I’m personally so glad that one kicked the bucket, RIP (but not really). Similarly, some lipstick shades will always be in, mostly because they're the perfect color or they're great to wear for everyday use. I for one love matte lipsticks, and I believe matte “lippies” will be around forever. For some reason though, lipgloss is coming back. I blacklisted lipgloss since the age of 12. I see it as the bellbottoms of the lipstick world. For all you makeup lovers, we’ve compiled a list of brands and their most popular lipstick shades, check it out:

Generally the most popular lip shades tend to range from nudes (skin colors), browns, pinks, and mauve-y/taupe-y colors. MAC’s most popular shades sell out pretty fast, particularly their lip liners. If you see these shades grab and bag them while you can.

MAC lipstick shades:

Taupe (matte) - A nice brown shade, will suit many skin complexions
Velvet Teddy (matte) - A nude shade, favoring a more pink tone.
Sin (matte) - Dark maroon-brown shade.
Russian Red (matte) - A subtle, but rich red, suits many skin tones.
Mehr (matte) - A mid-toned matte pink.
Whirl (matte) - Dirty-rose.
Flat Out Fabulous (matte) - A vibrant and rich plummish purple that goes with every skin tone!
