Libyan team thanks Qatar for support

A Libyan tribal delegation arrived in Doha yesterday evening for a two-day visit to Qatar during which the delegation members will convey profound thanks and gratitude to the state , HH the Emir, the government and people of the State of Qatar for standing alongside the Libyan people during their struggle for freedom. Chief of staff of the armed forces MajGen Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah and a number of army commanders welcomed the Libyan delegation upon arrival at Doha International Airport. In a statement commenting on his recent visit to Libya, Maj Gen Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah said the visit was commissioned by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani with a view to get acquainted with the latest developments in Libya and for talks with Libyans on further developing bilateral relations and ways of offering them support in the future. HE the Chief of Staff of the armed forces reiterated that the current situation in Libya is satisfactory, reassuring and promising .. and referred also to political moves in Libya. The Libyan delegation comprises tribes from the Eastern and Southern region . In a statement a number of the delegation’s members lauded the distinguished role played by Qatar in supporting Libya and the Libyan people in their struggle against the tyrant Gaddafi. We are in Doha to extend our thanks and gratitude on behalf of the Libyan people to HH the Emir, government and people of Qatar for their support to the Libyan people, they said, adding this support had mobilised international support behind the Libyan people and their attempts to get rid of the authoritarian Qaddafi regime. The members of the delegation, said that Qatar’s support for the Libyan people will never be forgotten, adding that Qatar was a role model for the region. Ali al-Sanusi, head of the Libyan delegation, described the role of the State of Qatar in support of his country and its revolution as “a distinguished and unique” one, saying that all Libyans are proud of Qatar’s sincere role led by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani. He said “the Libyan people are proud of HH the Emir, government and people of Qatar”. Gulf Times
