HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani has issued a law amending some provisions of decree-law number (5 ) of 1984 on organising clubs. The decree-law stipulates that Article (1) of the aforesaid decree-law shall be substituted by the following: In application of provisions of this law, the club means each corporation of a continuous organisation being formed by a group of natural persons for a purpose other than obtaining profit, and it aims to practise sport or cultural or social activity or other necessary activities beneficial to the community as well as provides necessary means and services in order to achieve its goals. The clubs may establish commercial companies in order to serve an activity other than that being practised by the club. The decree-law is effective from the date of its issue, and is to be published in the official gazette. - QNA
