French luxury leather-goods brand Lancel was officially launched at The Pearl-Qatar last Thursday.
Besides vintage bags, the boutique also showcased a series of iconic bags including the Brigitte Bardot bag, the Premier Flirt and the Adjani.
Leonello Borghi, the artistic director of Lancel and an artisan travelled from Paris to attend the event. Borghi said: “We have been quite selective in our boutique locations across the world. Doha is the latest, following successful Lancel boutique launches in Paris, Beirut and Tokyo. The Pearl-Qatar now provides us with an equally stunning home for our brand”.
The Lancel boutique layout allows guests to move seamlessly between the various atmospheres generated within the store. This creates the feeling of a beautifully furnished living space interspersed with vintage bags; enabling a deeper insight into the company’s heritage.
The Lancel store spans 267 sq m and is based on the “Bag Gallery” design concept created by Christophe Pillet, emblematic architect and designer. The idea behind the concept is to treat each bag as unique by revealing the stories and emotions associated with it, while celebrating the various colours and textures.
Kirk Martin, Executive Vice President, Fashion & Retail Leasing at The Pearl-Qatar said: “Lancel is now part of the deluxe retail experience offered by The Pearl-Qatar, the number one destination for luxury brands in Qatar. Over the past six months in particular, we have seen the portfolio of international brands at The Pearl-Qatar grow exponentially and this growth will undoubtedly continue in the coming months.”

The Lancel boutique in Doha houses the luxurious “cabinet des précieux” collection that features exotic leathers such as ostrich, crocodile, python and eel. These luxurious handbags are the fruit of many hours of dedication; the artisan present at the event was able to personalise the bags while demonstrating the various design techniques available at the boutique.
The Doha boutique is Lancel’s first flagship store in the Arabian Gulf.
