Officials of the recruitment department of the ministry of labour have assured the members of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) that all complaints received from Qatari firms through the QCCI on problems pertaining to approval of visas for recruitment of expatriate workforce, irrespective of the number of visas or the specific nationalities required, will be looked into promptly, says a report published in the local Arabic daily Arrayah. Referring to the meeting held a few days ago between the labour ministry officials and the QCCI members, the report says that complaints received from firms that have a good track record, especially on payment of wages, will be attended to without delay. Participating in the meeting, the director of the recruitment division of the labour ministry, Abdullah al-Muhannadi said that the main concern of the ministry is that the expatriate workforce should receive their wages and other dues on time and be provided the standard facilities. “There should be no commercialisation of the visas” he said. http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=347744&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
