His Highness (H.H.) the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah at the Amiri Diwan Office earlier today, along with the accompanying delegation, on the occasion of his visit to the country to attend the inaugural ceremony of Sabah Al-Ahmad Corridor that will be held this evening.

At the outset of the meeting, H.E. the Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Kuwait conveyed the greetings of H.H. the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to H.H. the Amir, and his thanks for naming the "Sabah Al-Ahmad Corridor" after the H.H. the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, wishing His Highness good health and happiness, and the Qatari people continuous progress and prosperity.

For his part, H.H. the Amir entrusted HE Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah to convey his greetings to H.H. the Amir of Kuwait, wishing him good health and wellness, and the Kuwaiti people further progress and development.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and the means of developing and enhancing them.

H.E. Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah arrived in Doha this morning on an official visit to the country at the invitation of H.E Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, to attend the inaugural ceremony.

H.E. Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister and his accompanying delegation were welcomed upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah and H.E. Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Qatar Hafeez Mohammed Al Ajmi.
