The celebrations at Iftar and Suhoor can be a tempting time to forgo a healthy, balanced diet and to over-indulge. Superstar singer and Anlene bone health advocate Nancy Ajram is encouraging those who are marking the Holy Month to remember that it is important to eat a balanced diet during the celebrations to keep bones healthy. Every adult needs to continue to get their daily intake of calcium during Ramadan, which is around 1000 or 1200 mg[1] of calcium per day. Calcium is an essential nutrient for healthy bones and milk is one of the best sources – a single glass has the same amount as nine cups of raw spinach. - ILQ News - Nancy says; “An easy and convenient way for you and your family to get your recommended daily dose during Iftar and Suhoor is by drinking fortified milk drinks such as Anlene. High calcium milks not only have double the amount of calcium than regular milk, they are fortified with additional vitamins and minerals to help your body absorb calcium more effectively.” Once Iftar begins, it’s advisable to keep food as simple and unrefined as possible.
