Katara Receives ISO Certificate for Quality Management Systems

Doha, December 29th 2012: In recognition of its commitment to quality and work efficiency, Katara received ISO 9001:2008 certificate for Quality Management Systems in Cultural Affairs. The certificate was awarded based on Katara’s implementation of standard quality management which meets the standards and guidelines of ISO 9001:2008. The Cultural Village received this recognition by MS Certification Company, one of the companies adopted internationally in the field of application of quality management standards for administrative and financial world. The certificate was received by Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara at Katara’s headquarter in the presence of Mr. Sherif Taher, General Manager of MS Certification and Omar Al Mannai, Representative of General Manager’s Office of Katara. Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara said: “This is an achievement that we are extremely proud of at Katara. This recognition reinforces Katara’s ability to build integrated system of processes that would raise the level of performance and improve the operations of internal and external communications. As our eyes remain firmly fixed at the future, we remain focused on constantly enhancing our quality standards which is key to Katara’s success story.” Sherif Taher, General Manager of MS Certification said: “Katara has truly earned the ISO certificate for its outstanding quality management of Cultural Affairs, and this goes back to the continued hard efforts of the Katara team. Katara has achieved the highest standards that ISO certificate requires in order to be eligible to receive this award. We are delighted to grant Katara this certificate which highlights its’ leadership in Cultural Affairs management.” SO is short for International Organization for Standardization and is based in Switzerland, Geneva. In 1987, it issued the ISO 9000 family of standards which are related to quality management systems and designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to the product. ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
