Katara celebrates the success of the Joseph Calleja and Nataliya Kovalova performance Doha, April 8th, 2012: Katara, the Cultural Village, enjoyed the success of Maltese Tenor, Joseph Calleja and Ukrainian Soprano, Nataliya Kovalova this weekend at Katara’s Opera House. Hundreds turned out to the duo perform alongside Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. Abdulrahman Alkhulaifi commented, “The evening was a great success, we were delighted to invite Joseph Calleja and Nataliya Kovalova to Katara to play alongside the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. This performance is yet another testimonial of Katara’s commitment to providing a platform for world class performers whilst building cultural bridges.” Joseph Calleja, recently appointed Malta’s first cultural ambassador is one of the most sought after tenors by leading opera houses on both sides of the Atlantic. Nataliya Kovalova, has performed alongside Jonas Kauffman who played at Katara’s Opera House last month. Katara has a number of events and activities including exhibitions, concerts and festivals planned for the coming months including the Louise Bourgeois exhibition which is currently on display until the 1st June 2012 at Katara. - ILQ news -
