Karwa renews deal with top UK firm KARWA, owned and operated by Mowasalat, has renewed its commitment for the second year in a row with City & Guilds of UK, one of the most reputable and globally recognised organisations in quality control and development of training systems. The initiative is directed towards achieving an important objective of Mowasalat in giving the best possible training certified by experts in the industry towards the development of skills, limiting accidents and maintaining the safety of the public. As an example of the success of the programme, The Pearl GTL project’s promoters Shell and Qatar Petroleum had recently recognised Mowasalat for contributing to their accident free campaign by way of Karwa transport services in their plant. The commitment renewal with City & Guilds of UK took place at the Mowasalat headquarters. The ceremony was attended by executive director Ahmed Bu Sherbak al-Mansouri, business development director Ahmed al-Ansari, and training technical manager Robert Makondo along with the City & Guilds of UK’s GCC regional office manager Amanda Kelleher, who came to carry out an auditing process including checking the level of the new training courses, evaluating the newly introduced additions to courses and reviewing compliance with the conditions and specifications. Al-Mansouri said Mowasalat had received with pleasure the positive comments made by City & Guilds regarding the advanced training course as well as the commendation of the new additions made to the advanced courses. “Mowasalat is considered the only company in the region approved by City & Guilds, a fact we are proud of and, at the same time, inspires us to continue our efforts aimed at maintaining the development of and maximum compliance with our courses and quality standards,” he said. Al-Ansari observed that one of the key objectives of Mowasalat was the development of integrated rules and systems up to the expectations of customers and the ever-growing economy of Qatar. “Such rules and systems are based on sound foundations according to the highest international specifications. Consequently, the agreement with City & Guilds, is just a reflection of the transparency and credibility of Mowasalat in terms of control, development and ambition to achieve the best outcomes,” he maintained. Makondo revealed Mowasalat’s plan for the development and introduction of more integrated and effective training equipment. A notable example of this is the demonstration and utilisation of the latest dual-seat electronic seatbelt simulator, used to give real-life experience of an impact that takes place during accidents both with and without the seatbelt. Karwa has been using driving simulators for over a year and the updated three-dimension version, gives the driver a more real-life feeling and familiarity of what actually takes place on the road, is expected to arrive soon.
