Karwa offers free bus rides on new double deckers on National Day

Mowasalat is offering free rides for passengers on its new double-decker buses on December 18 to mark Qatar’s National Day. The company that operates the Karwa buses and taxis has launched its first fleet of five double-ducker buses, that will soon join the public transport service. Another five ordinary buses with advanced features are also been introduced. Talking to the media yesterday, Mowasalat’s Business Development Director Ahmed Al Ansari said the new double decker buses will offer free ride for passengers on the Corniche on the National Day from morning until evening. He said the routes for the double-decker buses will be finalised very soon. They are likely to operate from the central bus terminal in Al Ghanim to City Center, Al Wakra and Mesaieed. The company will soon introduce buses to Mesaimeer area, where all the churches are located. The first buildings of the low-rent housing units of the Barwa real Estate company are also located in this area and are getting ready for occupation. The double-decker buses have 68 passenger seats - 26 in the lower deck and 42 in the upper deck. The features include low floor, without step, and two level staircase with handrails to prevent falling of people in the event of sudden braking. It has special seats dedicated to families and women and ramp for disabled person.
