As per a report by Al Jazeera, H.E. Qatar’s ambassador to Afghanistan Saeed bin Mubarak al-Khayarin said a technical team was able to reopen Kabul airport to receive aid and that it would be prepared for civilian flights soon. A Qatari plane loaded with food aid had also arrived at the airport, as per reports.

The runway at Kabul airport has been repaired in cooperation with authorities in Afghanistan, H.E. the ambassador said. Two domestic flights were also recently operated from Kabul to the cities of Mazar-i-Sharif and Kandahar.
