The Embassy of Japan, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, Minister of Culture, Arts & Heritage, yesterday organized a Concert of Arab music by a prominent Japanese musical group “Japan Music Project” at Qatar National Theatre as a part of the on-going celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of Qatar Japan diplomatic relations. The event was a great success as the Japanese musicians captivated the audience with their marvelous performance and at times collaborated with Arab musicians (Marasi Ensemble) from Qatar Music Academy amazingly producing a cocktail of Japanese and Arabic music which was overwhelmingly enjoyed by the music-loving audience and praised with long and standing-ovations after their performances. The event was attended by a packed audience of over 500 including other dignitaries from various governmental and private organizations as well as the diplomatic corps apart from general public. The “Japan Music Project” headed by YAS-KAZ (Percussionist and composer) is on a visit to the Gulf region including Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, with a message of friendship between Japan and the Gulf countries, wishing for peace, happiness and prosperity for all through their musical performances. Mr. YAS-KAZ and his team members were extremely pleased with the Qatari hospitality and the quality of audience they interacted with in Qatar.
