Two topflight Japanese musicians, a violinist and a pianist, are to perform at a classic musical concert at the Qatar National Theatre tomorrow, Japanese Ambassador Yukio Kitazume said yesterday.
The concert, featuring violinist Hisako Tokue and pianist Seizo Azuma, is being organised under the patronage of Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and chairman of Qatar-Japan Friendship Society, HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, in co-operation with the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage.
Tokue began to play the violin at the age of three. She has toured countries like France, Italy, the UK, Ireland, USA and Abu Dhabi.
She noted that her favorite music composers were Beethoven and Bach.
Azuma, who is one of the most prominent Japanese pianists, started playing at the age of five.
The concert will feature pieces of Beethoven, Takemitsu, Kreisler, C W Gluck, Rimsky-Korsakow and Massenet.
