A friendly football match between the national teams of Japan and Canada will be held at Khalifa International Stadium, Doha, on March 22. The game starts from 7.05pm and is free of charge for the public. Gates 2 and 25 of the stadium will be open to spectators from 5.30pm. The friendly can also be seen as a warm-up game for Japan for the 2014 World Cup qualifier. The Japanese team is slated to play against Jordan in Amman on March 26. Japan leads its qualifying group and seeks its fifth straight appearance in the World Cup. A win in Amman will qualify the team for the 2014 World Cup with two games to spare. Japan is currently ranked 26th in the world while Canada is 68th. The last and only time Japan played Canada was at the 2001 Confederations Cup, where Japan beat Canada 3-0. http://www.gulf-times.com/qatar/178/details/346197/japan%2c-canada-football-friendly-on-march-22
