The Internet Society (ISOC) yesterday announced the opening of its chapter in Qatar. The chapter offers programmes around various topics on the Internet such as e-learning and technology. It will also hold workshops, discussion forums and many other types of events in co-operation with organisations and individuals around the country as well as other international chapters around the globe. “ISOC Qatar chapter is part of one of the leading organisations around the world, and being community driven it gives us immense power to achieve many goals and establish new programmes,” said Fadel al-Enazi, chairman of ISOC Qatar. The chapter is also participating in the QITCOM, the technology exhibition and conference that will take place from March 5-7 at Qatar National Convention Centre. Registration in the chapter is free and the members will have many benefits including participating in workshops and conferences as well as working with leading organisations around the world and designing community programmes, a spokesperson said.
