International food fest in Qatar

The annual food festival organised by Qatar Tourism Authority( QTA ) will be held from March 28 to 31 at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park. Renamed Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF), the fourth edition of the event is being organised in partnership with Qatar Airways . QIFF will have two main themes — healthy food and a healthy lifestyle — and will focus on the Qatar UK 2013 celebrations, highlighting traditional dishes from Britain and Qatar. Eng. Issa Al Mohannadi, Chairman of QTA , said: “We at QTA are honoured to partner with Qatar Airways as we consider QA a key partner in promoting Qatar as an upscale tourist destination. This year, the festival showcases excellent quality food from some of the world’s best hotel and restaurant brands that have established outlets in Qatar, confirming its growing reputation as an international gourmet capital that appeals to tourists from anywhere in the world.” The Healthy Food Zone will be dedicated to healthy dishes, including raw foods, salads, vegetables, fruits, steam-cooked seafood and meats accompanied by fresh juices and teas. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways , said: ” Qatar Airways is very pleased to be partnering withQatar Tourism Authority on what has become a great annual family event here in Doha. We are extremely excited by the initiatives that we will be featuring in this years’ festival — we promise there will be some thrilling ‘firsts’ for Doha taking place — I strongly encourage everyone to stay tuned for our upcoming announcements about the Qatar International Food Festival.” This year’s festival has a number of exciting initiatives which will delight adults and kids alike. The MIA Park, with its beautiful setting on Doha’s waterfront, is a stunning backdrop for the event. Entry to the event is free. Vouchers for food and drinks at the festival will be sold on site.
