H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of State for Internal Affairs, and H E Dr Ali bin Muhsin bin Futais Al Murri, the Attorney General of Qatar, inaugurated a project for electronically connecting the archives of the Public Prosecution and Security departments in the Ministry of Interior.
In a function held at the Public Prosecution building on Monday, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser stressed that the project will ease procedures and at the same time help consolidate crime statistics when they are compiled at the end of every year.
Dr Al Murri said, "The experiment of connecting the archive system electronically between Shimal Security Department and Shimal prosecution office was successful and it can be followed by other security departments and prosecution offices."
"The project is completely secure and employs modern technologies and the latest systems," Dr Al Murri said. Another project to be implemented in the near future will connect the public prosecution with courts, through which all files will be dispatched electronically from the public prosecutor to the judges concerned in the court.
Colonel Nasser Jabr Al Nuaimi, Director of Shimal Security Department, said the launch marked the completion of the project, which had been implemented by the Interior Ministry utilizing modern technology.
Maryam Abdullah Hajji, Head of the computer section in the public prosecution, explained the new electronic archive system and its functions while Saud Abdullah Al Shafi, Shimal Prosecution head, discussed the system of connecting the archives electronically with the security department.
At the end of the ceremony, H E Dr Al Murri honoured Brigadier Salih Khamis Al Kubais, IT Director in the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Al Shafi, and Hajji for their sincere efforts in making the project a success.
H E Muhammed bin Ahmed Al Misnad, Vice Chairman of the State Security Agency, Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, Director General of Public Security, directors of different security and service departments at the Ministry of Interior and heads of various prosecution offices attended the function.
