Mubadara, which means “initiative” in Arabic, is the new name and theme for INJAZ Qatar’s annual Young Enterprise of the Year competition. The competition, first organized in Doha in 2008, will see seven student led enterprises established through INJAZ’s globally recognized Company Program™ compete for the ‘Best Student Company’ award. The winning team will take part in a regional competition against 13 Arab countries scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi in September. Company Program™ provides students with the unique opportunity of establishing and running a real company as they develop a business idea, raise capital, produce and sell a product/service. By the end of the program students liquidate the company with balance sheets and profit/loss statements and prepare to present their business to a panel of judges at the national competition. This year this program received funding from Boeing and MEPI. The Competition consists of four stages. Students are asked to submit their company report to a panel of judges ahead of the Competition which is then reviewed and scored. Next, each team is invited to an interview that will be conducted by the judging panel on Thursday May 17th 2012. The final two stages are the business presentation and the trade fair exhibition which will take place on Saturday May 19th. For the second year students received training on presentation skills from H+K Strategies.
