DOHA: Indonesians here paid tribute with a sense of pride and patriotism in celebrating their 66th Independence day anniversary at the Indonesian Embassy yesterday with officials underscoring a stronger bilateral relations between their country and Qatar. The celebration yesterday inside the Embassy was observed with a solemn ritual by a small group of officials, staff and invited community members conducting a Ramah Tamah which is characterised by messages and recitation of allegiance and prayers for their beloved country. Muhamad Al Aula, Third Secretary and spokesman of the Indonesian Embassy, said the ritual is intended to internalise the situation back in 1945 when their forebears struggled and fought for independence as a free and independent nation. Riyadi Asirdin, Charge d’Affaires said this year’s celebration is more significant after Indonesia forged stronger economic ties with Qatar on various investments by Qatari companies to their country. http://www.thepeninsulaqatar.com/qatar/161877-indonesians-celebrate-independence-day.html
