The Indian embassy has announced the launch of online visa services from July 1.
Those intending to visit India for tourist, business and other purposes can access the government of India website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in to fill up the application forms online, the embassy said in a statement.
Applicants have to fill in all details in the form and also upload recent photographs.
A printout of the filled in application form signed by the applicant with two copies of the uploaded photograph is required to be submitted in person along with the requisite fee, a photocopy of ID card, other documents according to information given on the embassy website (www.indianembassyqatar.gov.in) and a passport valid for at least six months beyond the applicable visa period at the embassy in Doha between 8am and 11.15am, Sunday to Thursday, the statement said.
Visas for Qataris and non-Qataris having valid residence permits would normally be issued on the same day. It may take at least three to four working days in cases of non-Qataris who do not hold a valid residence permit for Qatar.
For some categories of non-Qataris the processing time is much longer - the embassy’s Consular Section would guide the applicants on this, the embassy statement added.
The period of validity of visa begins from the date of issue of visa. The statement said embassy reserves the right to refuse visa without assigning any reasons.
