In The Glow takes you into the realm of skincare in this week’s episode, with a little help and guidance from ILQ’s very own beauty and skincare expert Leena Chung.

Leena hails from Korea, where beauty and skincare are held at the highest standard and are of the utmost importance for most Korean women.

In our latest video, Leena proficiently demonstrates how to apply a Mediheal Tea-tree Care Solution Essential Mask. Why the tea-tree mask? Leena's skin type is sensitive and dry, so this mask helps in moisturizing and hydrating the skin. She also says, “I had a few spots on my face and tea-tree soothes and clears up irritated skin.”

Tea-tree is known for its numerous remedial properties and acts as a gentle antiseptic.

Mediheal, a Korean cosmetic brand that focuses mainly on face masks, is widely used by both Koreans and non-Koreans alike. Mediheal offers a variety of masks depending on different skin types and targets different problem areas of the face.

Protips for face mask application:

1. Keep face masks refrigerated for a couple of hours before use. Refrigerating masks helps cool the skin and also closes pores on your face.

2. Cleanse face and dry with towel.

3. After opening the face mask package, squeeze out some of the serum and apply on your face gently. This helps even out the application of the serum before putting the face mask on.

4. Unfold the face mask and place it on top of your face, adjusting the positioning for the eyes and nose.

5. Squeeze out the rest of the serum from the packet and massage it on top of the mask evenly.

6. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes only. Do not let the mask dry as it will also dry out your skin.

7. After removing the mask, gently pat down the remaining serum on your face so it can be absorbed into skin.

8. Apply a hydrating moisturizer to conclude the regimen.

Result: Fresh, revitalized, natural glowing skin (#naturalhighlightonfleek)!

After applying the face mask, Leena also put on a Cherry Lip Gel Patch by Etude House, another Korean cosmetic company that’s also very popular.

The Etude House lip mask helps to instantly moisturize dry and chapped lips, and acts as a primer before you apply makeup. Leena also suggests that it’s great to use on long-haul flights!

Protips for lip mask application:

1. For best results, exfoliate your lips before applying mask. Cleanse and towel-dry.

2. Apply lip mask on lips.

3. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

4. After removing, pat the remaining product onto your lips, and apply lip balm to moisturize.

Result: Soft, smooth, healthy-looking lips!
