The Ministry of Justice in a tweet has said that it is the duty to report a person infected or suspected of having a contagious disease is a joint responsibility and falls on everyone, whenever this comes to the knowledge of any of them.

The Ministry also published a video clip to raise awareness of the need to inform the health center when a person is suspected of having a contagious disease.

The Ministry explained that reporting is the responsibility of the doctor, the head of the family, the principals of schools and colleges, the heads of work, and everyone who has a responsibility for the patient.

The Ministry also indicated that Decree No. 17 of 1990 regarding the prevention of infectious diseases and its amendments in Law No. 9 of 2020 in Article 21 is punishable by imprisonment for a period of up to 3 years, and a fine of no more than QR 200,000 or one of these two penalties, if one fails to report it.
