DOHA: IKEA, the globally renowned home products company that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture and accessories, has confirmed the official opening of its new store in Qatar. The doors of the new store will open at 10am on March 11. In a press statement to The Peninsula yesterday, IKEA said the store will be open on Thursday, March 7 as a test day for family to ensure that it is completely operational for the official opening. Only the guests who have received invitations will get entry to the store on that day for two hours of shopping and an emergency evacuation drill. “We are very excited about IKEA’s arrival into this rapidly growing market and look forward to welcoming the people of Qatar to our store for the official public opening on March 11 at 10am,” said John Kersten, Managing Director, IKEA UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman.
