The General Directorate of Endowments of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) announced that 350,000 fasting people benefited from the ready-made meals and iftar tables in various parts of Qatar as part of the iftar meal project for fasting people for the year 2023/1444 AH implemented through Iftar Waqf for fasting people, a project of Waqf bank for righteousness and piety.
In a statement on 30 April 2023, the Director General of the General Department of Endowments, Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanim Al-Thani affirmed the Department's keenness on holding iftars for fasting people during the holy month annually to fulfil the conditions of the honourable endowers and achieve the goals of the Waqf bank for righteousness and piety in promoting community partnership, praising in this regard the efforts of the endowers and philanthropists who contributed to the Iftar Waqf for fasting people.
Assistant Director General of the General Department of Endowments Mohammed Yaqoub Al Ali said that the Department provided iftar meals for 12,000 fasting people on a daily basis in various sites.
