The Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) will launch today its revamped Qatar National e-Learning Portal, which aims to broaden e-services provided by ictQATAR to different segments of the society. The portal offers 2,500 free online courses to government employees in a variety of topics, in business, IT, computer skills, human resources, marketing, personal development and management. ictQATAR will launch the revamped portal during a ceremony to be held at Al Sharq Hotel in the presence of the Council’s senior officials as well as guests from various authorities. Government employees throughout Qatar have the opportunity to learn new skills and advance their careers all without having to leave their desk through the innovative e-learning portal. In a collaborative project, ictQATAR and the Institute of Administration Development (IAD) developed the e-learning portal, a website that gives government employees access to 4,000 online courses that address both professional and personal development. The online courses offer users an interactive learning experience and include audio, video, demonstrations and simulations. There are course offerings in 29 distinct categories, including computer skills, marketing, leadership, management, team building, project management, self development, stress management and business development, among many others. Courses can be taken in English, Arabic or French. QNA
