We would like to thank the number of friends, partners, followers and clients who have called in or messaged us with sincere words of sympathy and offers to help with the hack. We really appreciate it and feel blessed.
The truth is, we were never truly hacked. This was an intitative to raise awareness about cats on World Cat Day and to support and honor individuals and organizations in Qatar, like the Qatar Animal Welfare Society, who are committed to helping not just cats but also all kinds of animals that are cruely neglected or abandoned or abused. This was our response to a call for help from Parkview Pet Center and 2nd Chance a couple of months ago, who have witnessed an increase in the number of animal abandonment at the start of summer when many leave Qatar for vacation.
I Love Qatar will increase its efforts to promote awareness about animal shelters in Qatar and continue to support non-profits in spreading their message and widening their reach. I Love Qatar is a free community platform for all non-profit organizations in Qatar, human and animal alike. If you have a charity event / drive that you would like to promote, simply register on the site, and submit a listing in the Events Section with all the details. We will then review it and publish it.
On a personal note, I would love it if we had a Cat Cafe in Qatar. Not sure if Baladiyyah will allow it, or how. We will publish our findings as soon as we have them. If anyone out there has any information, please share it with us in the comments section.
