The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani presided over the Cabinet’s weekly session at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. After the meeting, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, H E Sheikh Nasser bin Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani, said the Cabinet discussed a topic submitted for discussion by businessmen at the third consultative meeting on the private sector’s role in the development process and the obstacles that local companies face in entering global tenders. Upon the directives of the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani for supporting that vital sector, the Prime Minister issued directives to the state’s concerned bodies to remove all these obstacles and cancel any financial ceilings limiting the participation of local companies in such tenders. The Cabinet then discussed the topics on the agenda and took the necessary measures for the issuance of a draft law on the enactment of the income-tax law. It also took a decision on a draft law amending some rules of Qatar Financial Centre’s law, issued by Law No. 7 of 2005. The Cabinet also took a decision on a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 13 of 1988 on the temporary expropriation and seizure of buildings for public benefit. It also took a decision on a letter by the public health minister and secretary general of the Supreme Health Council on the separation of Primary Health Care from Hamad Medical Corporation. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=June2009&file=Local_News20090625256.xml
