Runners have only one day left to sign up for the first Qtel Marathon, which will be held on Saturday to promote athletics and to raise money for charities. Adult runners can register for the Half Marathon (21.1km) or the 10km Run, while those under 18 years can register for the 1km Youth Run. Registration closes tomorrow. Hundreds of professional and amateur runners, corporate teams, students and families have already registered for the races, which will take place at 7am. The race will start on the Doha Corniche and end at the Museum of Islamic Art, after looping around the Sheraton Roundabout. Participants can choose to walk, run or jog the course, as the emphasis is on healthy lifestyles rather than winning.
