Al Wakra and Mesaieed will witness a difference of 18 degrees Celsius between day and night temperatures today.

Maximum temperature in the two places will be 45 degrees Celsius, while the minimum that has been forecast by the weather bureau is 27 degrees.

On the other hand, Abu Samra, on the Qatar-Saudi Arabia border will witnesses a difference of only six degrees Celsius in day and night temperatures.

The maximum temperature forecast in Abu Samra for today is 38 degrees Celsius while the minimum is 32 degrees. In Dukhan and Al Ruwais, the difference will be seven degrees.

In Dukhan and Al Ruwais, the maximum temperatures forecast are 40 degrees C and 39 degrees Celsius, respectively, while the minimum, 33 and 32 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Doha will witness a difference of 11 degrees Celsius since the mercury level will likely soar to 45 degrees during day time here while at night, it will drop to 34 degrees Celsius.

The numerical difference between day and night temperatures is technically called diurnal temperature variation.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau has forecast strong winds and low visibility today and rough seas in the north.

Visibility could come down to three km at times at places due to the windy and dusty weather.

The speed of northwesterly to northerly wind could go up to 25 knots an hour during the day time. The direction of the wind will change at night to southwesterly and its speed would likely come down to 10 knots an hour, forecasters said.
