With residents expected to stay in the country this summer, competition among hotels here is expected to be at fever pitch as they offer value-based summer promotions on hotel packages, food and beverage discounts and summer entertainment, to take advantage of this demand. Luring guests with competitive room packages is not the only promotion Sharq Village and Spa has to offer guests. With QR850 per night for a room, the hotel offers a free breakfast and 25 percent discount on all food and beverage in each of the hotel’s outlets. Sharq Village recently included the Sharq Bites lunch to its Very Important Kids (VIK) promotion. The highlights of the VIK Brunch are the food, games and activities prepared for the children every weekend. For the month of Ramadan, Sharq Village and Spa will prepare the Seher Al Sharq tent, decorated tents at the hotel’s Al Dasha and Al Sonbok ballrooms, extravagant buffet spreads and luxurious room stays. Each of the tents will feature a private Majlis seating, flavoured Shisha and live entertainment comfortably accommodating up to 188 guests. Corporate hosts wishing to uphold the Arabic traditions of hospitality may hold private Iftar events with bespoke menus served in the elegant atmosphere of the Al Sonbok ballroom. The Doha Marriott Hotel will offer guests this summer their Around The World in 180 Minutes promotion, which will feature an array of cuisines offered at their restaurants Asia Live!, Corniche, All’ Aperto, Taj Rasoi and Salsa. The hotel also offers the Daily Seafood Buffet seven nights a week at the Corniche Restaurant from 6:30 p.m. to 11: 30 p.m. Marriott’s The Terrace presents live DJ every Tuesday to Friday. Find your haven to unwind, relax and sway with the breeze of the Arabian Gulf. Feel the rhythm of their DJ who will get you into the mood with chill-out and lounge music from 8 pm to 12 midnight. The Marriott offers guests a pool and beach barbeque party every weekend from 11am to 4pm, QR125 per person and kids 5 years and below can join the barbeque for free and QR75 for kids 6 years to 12. Non-members will have to pay QR225 per person. Summer time means strawberry time at Doha Marriott’s Lobby. Whether you like the strawberries serve fresh, cooked or blended, you can indulge in one of nature’s finest fruits. Take your pick from cakes, cookies, sweets, pastries, smoothies and more during the Marriott’s Sweet Strawberry Treats from July 4 to August 7. The hotel will celebrate the French National Day with a French Food Festival from July 14 to 24 at the Corniche Restaurant; commemorate the greatest moment in Indian history and celebrate the Indian Independence Day with an Indian Food Festival from August 8 to 15; and feature Malaysian cuisine during the Malaysian Food Festival from August 8 to 20. As a treat to their restaurant guests, the Doha Marriott offers its Gallery Rewards Programme, a loyalty or rewards programme for the guests who frequent the Restaurant Gallery at the hotel. For QR1 spent earns the guest 1 point. One hundred points are valued at QR10. The Doha Marriott’s summer room specials include the Extra Night Free promo where guests who book for two nights will receive the third night free (for every standard or executive room booked) – with prices starting from QR 750 per night. The Grand Hyatt Hotel Doha recently opened its Arabian-inspired Jaula spa, which was designed by Atlanta-based Hirsch Bedner Associates, in time for summer. The 1,673-sq-m Jaula Spa comes with a 2,639-sq-m health club specifically designed to incorporate elements of Qatar’s natural heritage. The spa offers therapies which include the ‘Spa Princess Body Ritual,’ a pampering treatment that takes three hours, and the ‘Ultimate Bridal Journey of Anne Semonin,’ a made-to-measure beauty indulgence that lasts for six hours. The InterContinental Hotel Doha offers Za Moda guests special three-course meals at QR165 within the summer set menu, inclusive of one house beverage. One of their promotions include: each QR500 spent in Za Moda will earn QR100 to be spent for the guests’ next visit. The hotel also offers an Extravaganza Brunch alongside children’s entertainment and cooking classes. The Doha Ritz-Carlton Hotel is offering guests a chance to experience the “crème-de-le-crème of luxury spa treatments” to restore the body. With state-of-the-art facilities, luxurious surroundings, personalized service and stimulating treatments, it is the perfect place to relax, unwind and while away the stresses of the day – the Sundari Energy Renewal Wrap and the Rejuvenating Special. The Sundari Energy Renewal Wrap will leave the guest feeling deeply relaxed and radiant. It is especially designed to target stubborn areas of cellulite with visible result after the first three treatments. The Rejuvenating Facial breathes life into dry or stressed skin with this deeply nourishing, intensely hydrating facial. The W Doha Hotel and Residences’ La Maison du Caviar offers discerning customers a sumptuous special offering of classic French cuisine this summer. La Maison offers 15-percent discount on all corporate lunches – a special rate that applies to corporate dinners, too. The well-priced selections on the menu read like a gastronomic adventure, from seafood bisque with garlic croutons and fresh cream, to grilled pink sea bass served on a vegetable flam and crushed potato, and galantine of poultry stuffed with foie gras and topped with foie gras cream sauce. The Doha Four Seasons Hotel continues its Theme Nights offerings at its four restaurants and three lounges. The Doha Sheraton also offers competitive summer room rates and special promotions in all its restaurant outlets. With the abundant summer promotions hotels are offering here, summer will be a season of excellent bargains not only for tourists, but also for residents. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=July2009&file=Local_News200907101459.xml
