Doha and other parts of Qatar continued to sizzle yesterday as many places saw the temperature rise to the mid-late 40C levels, the weather charts showed. A number of places recorded a maximum temperature of 48C yesterday, while the capital saw the mercury level rise to 43C.

Weather data issued by the Qatar Met department showed that the highest temperature – 48C - was recorded in Abu Samra, Karana, Jumayliyah and Ghuwairiyah yesterday. This was followed by 47C in Sheehaniya and Batna, 46C in Dukhan and Turayna, 45C in Abu Hamour, 44C in Umm Bab, 43C in Doha (airport area), the Qatar University area, Ruwais and Shehaimiya, 42C in Al Khor and 41C in the Hamad International Airport area and Mesaieed. Today’s forecast says a hot day is again expected in the country along with slight dust in some places at times. Mist is likely offshore in the early hours of the day, followed by fine conditions. A maximum temperature of 48C is likely in Abu Samra today, followed by 41C in Doha, Mesaieed, Wakrah and Dukhan, and 40C in Al Khor and Ruwais. (Source)
