Stable weather, with hot days and humid nights, are expected in Qatar during the Eid al-Adha holiday period, the Met office has said.
Temperatures are likely to stay around the average level experienced during this time of the year. While the minimum temperature will range from 28C to 31C, the maximum will be in the region of 37C to 39C during this period.
“Mainly stable weather is expected over the country (in the said period) due to the influence of a high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Overall, the weather will be hot during the day, becoming humid at night, with a chance for early morning mist or fog. In addition, seas are expected to be slight to moderate in general,” the weather office said in a statement on Monday.
Due to the "extension of the Indian monsoon low over the region, winds are expected to be northwesterly to northeasterly (light to moderate) in general, becoming fresh at times during the afternoon on September 23-24, with a chance of early morning haze or mist in some areas", according to the forecast.
The weather charts indicate a shift in wind direction between September 25 and 28, becoming northeasterly to southeasterly (light to moderate), causing an increase in relative humidity, especially at night, which will support the formation of early morning mist or fog over some areas and leading to a decrease in horizontal visibility, the statement adds.
The Met office has reminded the public that they can check the latest forecasts through its smartphone applications, social media accounts and the official website. In addition, people could call the forecasting centre (44480444) any time for enquiries.
