Hospitality Qatar 2018, the largest commercial exhibition of the hospitality sector in Qatar was opened to the public yesterday (November 6, 2018) at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre amid a high official and diplomatic presence, headed by H.E Said Djellab, Minister of Trade of Algeria.
This year’s edition sees the participation of more than 188 exhibitors from 20 countries, where the hospitality industry in Qatar will witness a boom in 2022, as part of the country’s efforts to develop the hospitality sector in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the FIFA World Cup in 2022.”
Qatar’s hospitality sector, according to a high-ranking official, has become one of the best in the region, especially with the development of hotel projects and high-end tourism destinations like resorts and entertainment venues, to host diverse events that promote Qatar’s position as leading tourism and hospitality destination at the regional and international levels.
Also, the first ‘Future of Tourism in Qatar’ conference organized for the first time in conjunction with the exhibition was as well inaugurated, in partnership with the National Tourism Council and IFP Qatar.
The well-attended conference is the first of its kind to deal with topics such as the role of innovation and new technologies in developing the tourism sector in Qatar, enhancing the customer experience and launching new initiatives in the culinary sector.
The Hospitality Qatar 2018 exhibition, which is running at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) till November 8th, provides the ideal platform for local and international
companies to network and collaborate on strategic projects.
The 3-day convention was inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Katara Hospitality.
