The weather bureau has forecast high winds and poor visibility today due to blowing dust. Northwesterly to northerly winds may move at speeds from 22km to 40km an hour initially and by noon the speed may even reach 52km an hour at places. However, as the night falls, the wind may lose its sting and speed may come down to 9km to 22km an hour. The weather will be hazy and dusty offshore as well, said the bureau in its routine forecast for today. Day temperatures may top 40 degrees C on average with 36 degrees C being the lowest in Al Ruwais and 45 degrees C each expected in Messieed and Al Wakrah. In Doha, the temperature forecast is 42 degrees. Nightly mercury levels have been forecast at 33 degrees in most places except Al Ruwais. Image: Gulf Times
