We've reported yesterday the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani's arrival to Lebanese capital Beirut for the fourth edition of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit (AESDS) despite last-minute attendance withdrawals from his fellow Arab leaders—resulting in a lower than expected turnout for the above-mentioned diplomacy gathering.

And just today (January 21), the beloved Qatari leader has returned to Doha to fulfill his upcoming partakings including a meeting with the Prime Minister (PM) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Imran Khan, who will arrive in Doha later today on an official visit.

In a tweet, the Amir expressed his happiness at participating in the AESDS. “I was delighted to participate in the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit. My decision to participate was natural in the interest of the Joint Arab Action that the summit has identified as the urgent need to strengthen it in the face of crises and challenges that confront us. Thank you to the leadership and the people of Lebanon for hosting the summit,” the Amir said in the tweet.

Ahead of the summit, the Amir met with Lebanese President General Michel Aoun. The meeting reviewed the most important topics on the agenda of the summit, in addition to the relations of cooperation between the two countries and means of promoting them.
The Amir and the Lebanese president exchanged views on the current issues in the regional and international arenas.

The Amir also expressed hope that the summit's results would contribute to supporting and promoting joint Arab action for the interests of the Arab people.

Meanwhile, according to local daily The Peninsula, the Amir's meeting with the Pakistani PM will eye to discuss the prospects of developing bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields and the latest updates at the regional and international levels.
