This Qatar National Day (QND), the “Henna Ahalha” Festival, organized by Embrace Doha, celebrates the heritage, culture, and national identity of Qatar in a distinct way.

The festival aims to offer an interactive cultural experience that will enhance the way in which locals and non-locals will learn about the history of Qatar.

“Henna Alhala” invites all residents from all age groups to come and enjoy an amazing celebration of culture. They’re also inviting Doha residents to share in the momentous occasion in memory of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed, who is known for defending the oppressed, and Qatar’s people in the time of conflict with the forces whom attempted to take over.

“This year, we aim to provide cultural content that focuses in expanding cultural knowledge of visitors, we want them to interact and touch Qatari identity and heritage closely,” said Amal Al-Shamarri, Chairman and Founder of Embrace Doha.

Two of Qatar’s primary lifestyles will be the focus of the “Henna Ahalha” Festival. The Bedouin lifestyle, portrayed by tradition and hospitality, and the Hadar lifestyle — also known as the “sea people,” which is still a large part of Qatar’s culture today.

Other activities will include traditional arts and crafts, kids entertainment and games, cultural food, and a photo booth where visitors can get pictures taken wearing traditional Qatari clothing.

The “Henna Ahalha” Festival will collaborate with Katara Cultural Village, Vodafone Qatar, Mema Advertising, Qatar Stars League, and Qatari Diar Vinci Construction (QDVC), which diversifies the activities at the event.

The festival takes place on December 18 and 19 at Katara Cultural Village. On December 18, it will start from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and on December 19, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
