This year’s Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) highlights a unique gastronomic sensation offering visitors dinner in the sky and the sea when it opens on Thursday at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park. ‘Dinner in the Sky’ by W Hotel and Residences Doha will let food lovers experience dining 40 metres up in the air, while The Diplomatic Club offers dining in the sea on its gentle drifting BBQ Donut crafts. Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Airways, the fourth edition of QIFF is set to be four days of family fun with gastronomic alfresco eating, drinking and cooking. QIFF will tempt visitors’ taste buds with samples of delicious five-star cuisines from around the world. Internationally renowned chefs will join many of Doha’s finest hotels and restaurants to celebrate fine dining with the freshest ingredients, latest food trends and healthy eating options. QIFF is also introducing Qatar Airways’ Cooking Theatre where award-winning celebrity TV chefs Ramzi Choueiri, from Lebanon, and Vineet Bhatia, from India, will be joined by Grand Hyatt Doha’s Chef David Okuda to demonstrate a few of their signature dishes. German Junior Master Chef, Valentin Krapf, will also be on hand to show youngsters how to cook a menu of healthy snacks and meals. Engineer Issa Al Mohannadi, Chairman of QTA, said: “With just days to go before the 4th Qatar International Food Festival, Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways are thrilled for what we believe will be our best festival to date. This year we are not only bringing delicious food from the best restaurants and hotels in Doha, but we are adding some exciting treats for those that really enjoy the art of cooking. We look forward to seeing everyone and their families at the festival again this week.” Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the event promises to be one of the most exciting in its history. “Qatar Airways is delighted to have teamed up with the Qatar Tourism Authority to put together this wonderful culinary festival that will undoubtedly appeal to people of all ages and we look forward to bringing an exciting flavour of activities for all to enjoy over four days,” he said. QIFF is open to the public on Thursday from 6pm to 11pm, Friday (1pm to 11pm), Saturday (1pm to 10pm) and Sunday (2pm to 10pm). Food and drink vouchers will be sold at the event. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/qatar/230481-have-dinner-up-in-the-sky-and-in-sea.html
