Qatari newspapers highlighted Tuesday H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to the United States of America, which started yesterday, stressing that it represents a new stage on the strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The newspapers praised the Qatari-American relations which are based on solid foundations, most notably the mutual respect and appreciation between the two sides and the keenness for permanent consultation to maintain security and peace at the regional and international levels, pointing out that the visit reflects the strength of the strategic partnership between the State of Qatar and the United States to achieve the interests of the two countries' peoples and the people of the Gulf region.

In its editorial today, Al-Sharq said that the warm welcome HH the Amir received at the start of his visit to the United States reflects the status of the State of Qatar in the priorities of US foreign policy.

Today's meeting between HH the Amir and US President Donald Trump at the White House is exceptional since it comes at difficult time in the Gulf region and will discuss enhancing strategic cooperation between the two countries in different fields and will attach great importance to the developments in the region, especially the escalation in the Gulf, the paper said.

The paper pointed out that Qatar's vision is the closest to the reality and calls to end the differences between the United States and Iran and avoid confrontation between the two sides because this will not benefit any party in the region.

The meeting, the paper said, will also address other files in the Middle East and ways to establish peace in Afghanistan in view of the success of the negotiations hosted by Doha between different specter of the Afghan people.

The State of Qatar and its well-known diplomacy have succeeded in receiving the attention of all institutions in the United States of America, in addition to the White House, which has gone over the developments in the region since the blockade imposed on Qatar began and until today, the paper underlined, adding that US officials, decision makers and lawmakers discovered that the accusations by countries of the blockade against Qatar of supporting terrorism are false.

In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that the Qatari-US talks will address the Palestinian cause in the light of the ongoing Qatari humanitarian support for the Palestinian people, which the US administration understands, adding that the talks aim at ending the siege imposed on the Palestinian people and finding other options after the 'deal of the century', rejected by Palestinians, failed.
