Reflecting the good relations and historical friendship between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom, H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani visited the UK to participate in the coronation ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III, which will be held in London tomorrow.
H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani discussed number of regional and international developments, friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries with H.E. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak at the Prime Minister's headquarters at 10 Downing Street in London the capital.
Bilateral relations between Doha and London have strengthened over the years since the beginnings of oil and gas exploration in the Arab Gulf region, where British companies have played a fundamental and pivotal role in the development of the oil and gas industry in the State of Qatar.
These relations have expanded to bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially political , economic, commercial, defense, cultural and educational, as generations of Qataris have studied in the United Kingdom from Sandhurst to Wales.
The Qatari-UK relations have a strong history that is reflected in all areas of cooperation between the two countries. Qatar's wise leadership seeks to transform the country into a global center for knowledge-based and innovation-based industries, to build a sustainable economy capable of achieving high growth rates in the future, and to expand our partnership in the fields of education, health, sports and security, which are areas in which the United Kingdom is a world leader.
