On Sunday, the Bedaya team had the pleasure of announcing the grand opening of Bedaya Dukan - a cosy little shop where SMEs and start-ups can gain visibility, set-up shop and display their goods at a strategic location within Katara.

For weeks, intensive hard work and planning has been put to create Dukan, the latest addition in the line of Bedaya’s ongoing initiatives that are designed to support local businesses.

During the grand opening event, Ms. Reem Al Suwaidi, General Manager at Bedaya, and Mr. Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, CEO of Qatar Development Bank and Executive Chair of Bedaya, introduced Bedaya Dukan to the public and encouraged everyone to support this platform by visiting and, of course, by spreading the word.

“The opening of [Bedaya] Dukan is yet another exemplary initiative of Bedaya to support entrepreneurs and start-ups. It aligns with Bedaya’s goals to assist young people to start their own new business in order to have a new generation of entrepreneurs who will be tomorrow’s foundation to build Qatar’s brightest future,” said Ms. Reem Al Suwaidi, General Manager at Bedaya.

For his part Mr. Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, CEO of Qatar Development Bank and Executive Chair of Bedaya said, “At QDB, we seek to facilitate the promotion of local entrepreneurs and the Qatari private sector. The opening of [Bedaya] Dukan will support the growing number of SMEs and boost entrepreneurial innovation in the country, thereby creating more opportunities for the future generation of business leaders.”

The Bedaya Dukan platform is going to be open to visitors daily from 10am to 10pm (Friday hours: 4pm-10pm). Not to mention, there are going to be new businesses setting-up shop every two-weeks! (all-the-more reason to drop by and have a look around).
