The Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel yesterday officially opened its Rocca Mediterranean restaurant to add to its portfolio of restaurants. Located next to the hotel’s outdoor pool, Rocca offers a diverse cuisine of the Mediterranean coastline. Specialties from France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Spain and Turkey constitute the restaurant’s menu. “Rocca offers another exceptional dining experience in a location that is truly relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle here. We look forward to welcome more guests and be able to please their palates,” said Garry Friend, general manager of Grand Hyatt Doha. The restaurant’s menu include wood-fire grilled Haloumi served with figs, honey bresola and Rocca leaves in walnut dressing; tomato soup with spider crab and fennel; mussels sautéed in garlic and sauce; pan-fried scallops served with cauliflower puree; and foie gras and chicken liver parfait. The main course line up includes baked hammour in herb and salt crust; porcini risotto with chervil, parmesan and extra virgin olive pil; mulwarra lamb shank tagine served with cous cous; and wood-roast young chicken with plum tomatoes and black olives, to name a few. The menu also features a separate section for pizza and pasta. Guests can choose from Margherita, Frutti di Mari and Quattro Formage pizza or indulge in Spaghetti Vongole or Pici Toscani with Artichokes and Lamb Bolognaise. Tiramusi, Lemon Yoghurt Panna Cotta, Warm Fig Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream, Burnt Orange Cardamon Cream with Pear are part of the restaurant’s dessert offerings. “We use only the fresh and most authentic ingredients to deliver an authentic cuisine. I believe that the natural flavours of food are enhanced by using various ingredients and appropriate cooking techniques. We do not add heavy sauces or musk the main ingredient, just like the traditional way of Mediterranean cooking,” said Chef de Cuisine Bernd Brademann. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=October2009&file=Local_News200910052731.xml
