The hotel is owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Jabr bin Jassim al-Thani who chose the Grand Heritage Group to operate the property. The announcement was made at a signing ceremony that took place recently, attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Jabr bin Jassim al-Thani, John Cullen, president of Grand Heritage; and Jean-Patrick Thiry, managing director for Grand Heritage in Europe, Middle East and Africa. With 190 suites and residences and 1,500 sq metres of meeting room space, the hotel is set to cater to the needs of both corporate guests as well as those who will visit for pleasure. The dining options at the hotel will include a brasserie and a chocolate lounge that will be the first of its kind in Qatar. The fitness facilities at the new hotel will include a spa along with an indoor pool and a gym. “In keeping with the unique philosophy of the Grand Heritage group, which inspires us to manage a range of hospitality locations, from one of a kind historic properties to world class destination resorts and premier business hotels, we are extremely proud to embark on this new venture of managing the Grand Heritage West Bay Suites and Residences in Qatar,” said Thiry. It has been less than a year since we established the Grand Heritage Doha Hotel and Spa on Qatari soil, and this is certainly a testament to our success that we are able to multiply our efforts as well as our pleasure in serving and entertaining all our guests, both local residents and expatriates with our new and unique offerings within such a short period since our arrival in the Doha market. “We plan to open doors in April, which coincides with the most beautiful of Doha’s seasons: spring time. Our strategic location in West Bay will provide easy access to the City Centre mall, various Qatari government buildings as well as some oil and gas headquarter buildings. Apart from this, we also offer ample parking spaces for our visitors and guests so that we can accommodate all who would like to visit us and enjoy our unique brand of hospitality”, commented Thiry.
