A visiting German health delegation is offering support to Qatar in fighting diabetes in the country. The delegation comprising representatives from leading healthcare firms in Germany — Emperra and gepa2 GmbH — yesterday met with senior officials of Hamad Medical Corporation, Primary Healthcare Corporation and Al Ahli Hospital. “The discussions focused on cooperation in fighting diabetes. We will provide experts for a series of seminars on diabetes to be held in Qatar in the forthcoming months,” said Christian Lindenau, Managing Director of gepa2. The team will also develop steps to provide an innovative, patent-protected product system in medical technology, branded as ESYSTA to Qatar. This “Closed Loop tele-diabetological Disease Management System” is combined with advanced services for patients in Diabetes mellitus. “We are in the process to realise a “gepa2 — Emperra Diabetes Symposium” in Doha this year to inform experts from all medical fields about this system. Furthermore gepa2 will do all necessary steps for a better information system in Qatar on diabetes,” said Lindenau. Emperra’s Esysta will significantly contribute to improved patient care, and will also compensate the constraints in the coverage of patient care in all countries with significant prevalence of diabetes mellitus in their populations. The system was developed to monitor patients’ parameters such as applied insulin values, blood glucose measurements and carbohydrate units, by transferring them continuously and via GSM to Emperra’s portals for patients and physicians / specialists. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/qatar/239904-germany-offers-help-to-fight-diabetes.html
