In a move to expand its international industrial services operation, Voith Industrial Service from Germany organised an inaugural ceremony recently in Doha.
Voith started its operation in Qatar and established an office in January this year under the name, Voith Industrial Services Qatar, to cater to the oil and gas and petrochemical and energy sectors.
Voith, a 145 years old family owned company, has 40,000 employees across the world. It is described as a market leader in Europe for maintenance and technical services.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, German Ambassador Anne Ruth Herkes, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry board member Ali bin Adulatif al-Misnad and Voith Industrial Service board member Norbert Nettesheim underlined the excellent co-operation between Qatar and Germany as well as the need to invest in human capital as a basis for sustainable development.
During the ceremony, Nettesheim handed over a donation of QR25,000 to the German School of Doha’s headmaster Kircher.
Voith Industrial Services Qatar managing director Michael Rau added that expertise and human resources are the main capitals of the company and safety, education and training are the key components for a sustainable development.
