The Government Communications Office has released a statement on Thursday that starting March 6, the suspension of the use of ID cards for entry to and exit from the State of Qatar will be implemented.
According to the GCO, in line with the State of Qatar’s efforts to take all the necessary preventive measures to limit the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), all Qatari citizens and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries entering the State of Qatar or travelling to other Gulf countries should use their passports and not their ID cards as of 6 March 2020.
This comes as a precautionary measure to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
