Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani was received by the United Arab Emirates de facto ruler Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan in Abu Dhabi at the Al Bahr Palace.

During the meeting, they discussed "the strong ties between their countries and ways to enhance them to serve the interests of their nations". (WAM)

Qatar's beIN Sports says Saudi to lift ban soon

According to Reuters, Saudi Arabia will soon lift a ban on beIN Sports in the country to remove "a key obstacle behind the collapsed takeover of Premier League soccer club Newcastle United by the kingdom's sovereign wealth fund (PIF)".

The Qatar-based sports broadcaster holds the rights for broadcasting the Premier League in the Middle East, but the Saudi General Authority for Competition suspended beIN Sports in 2017 and "permanently cancelled" the broadcaster's licence in 2020 during the blockade on Qatar which was resolved in January 2021.

H.E. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral International Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al Rassi met on Wednesday with H.E. Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah. (MOFA)

During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of the bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

During a telephone interview with TeN satellite channel's programme 'Public Opinion', Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry said relations between Qatar and Egypt are going well and mistakes made in the past would not be repeated.

He added that a new page of cooperation on the principles of mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs has started and causes of tension and outstanding issues between the two countries are being filtered out. (Egypt Today; Al Jazeera)

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia received, via video conferencing, the credentials of H.E. Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The credentials presentation ceremony was attended by H.H. Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al-Saud. (QNA)

H.H. The Amir received a telephone call from H.E. Marzouk bin Ali Al-Ghanim, speaker of Kuwait's national assembly during which he expressed his congratulations to Qatar on the success of the first legislative elections of the Shura Council.

He praised the popular participation in the voting process and wished the members of the elected council the best luck, and the people of Qatar continued progress and prosperity. (QNA)

During the call, they reviewed the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them, in addition to the most prominent regional and international developments. Ministry of Commerce and Industry inaugurates Qatar's pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

H.E. Sultan bin Rashid Al-Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, inaugurated the State of Qatar’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, taking place from October 1, 2021, until March 31, 2022, under the slogan: “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. (QNA)

In a statement on this occasion, H.E. Mr. Al-Khater said that the pavilion themed: ‘Qatar: The Future is Now’, was a distinguished platform for strengthening commercial, industrial and investment cooperation relations with the various countries participating in the exhibition.
